Bryn Marlais is set in 9 acres of grounds, which visitors to the cottage are welcome to use. The garden has a pond and a variety of shrubs with several seating areas and a bird feeding station which is popular with all the usual garden birds and the rarer woodpeckers, jays, nuthatches and goldfinches which delight us with their visits. Buzzards and red kites are often seen soaring high above in the valley or resting in trees and on other vantage points around the holiday cottage.
Leading from the garden is an orchard area which has a polytunnel and several greenhouses. Adjacent to this is an area of rough pasture, which slopes up to a small bluebell wood. As well as the land immediately around the holiday cottage, across the lane are a hay meadow and a small camping field incorporating a static holiday caravan. There are stunning views across the valley.
